Lake Okareka & Rotorua Area
Lake Okareka is one of four small lakes lying between Lake Rotorua and Lake Tarawera, in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand’s North Island. The lake is beautiful and serene and is great for fishing.
There is a village with about 500 people who live here. Some are holiday homes and others are permanent. The locals are very friendly and you’ll find lots of scenic walks.
The lodge is very close to the board walk which takes you across marshlands and farmland around part of Okareka lake. This walk is about 45 minutes and is all flat.
