During your stay with us we can introduce you to a selection of experiences in the surrounding Rotorua area. These include:
Fishing
Love fishing? We can arrange fishing trips with an experienced fisherman on Lake Okareka or other lakes whether it be fly fishing or boat trolling.
Walking
There are many spectacular walks around Ngamihi Lodge. Some are short like the Board Walk which takes you around the edge of Lake Okareka and over wetlands that are home to many beautiful native birds. Redwood Forest is only a 10 minute drive away and has many different walks through its magnificent Redwood trees.
Cultural
Rotorua is the cultural hub of New Zealand. Maori our indigenous people showcase their history and culture in many sites around Rotorua. We can arrange cultural tours with a local guide, Geoffrey Cox, to take you on a guided tour of these sites at an extra cost.
Boating
We have a small lake boat that can be hired out for a cruise around Lake Okareka - with or without champagne.
Cycling
We have 2 classic bikes that can be used to cycle the country lanes around the village.
Kayaking
2 Kayaks are available with life jackets to enjoy and explore Lake Okareka and the surrounding area.
Horse Riding
